We order out once or twice a week, go out once or twice a week and cook the rest of the time. Sometimes fast food at lunch. We cook as much as we can manage on the gas grill though. Probably twice a month I smoke some hunk of meat on the pellet smoker.

Yesterday we had friends over and I smoked a rack of ribs and a turkey breast. It's hard to get that level of taste at any restaurant. The bark on the fall-off-the-bone ribs was perfect and the turkey was moist and delicious.

Oh, one more category I guess. Leftover smoked meats as available for lunch.

I eat all my meals at home. I love to cook my own healthy food, but will go out to a restaurant for a special occasion once in a while.

As Rodney Dangerfield used to say..."My wife told me the other day she wanted to go somewhere she'd never been. I said fine, try the kitchen."

Heh. You might want to advise that neighbor to watch out for flying frying pans...

But, regarding "I had a waiter inside TV tell us that TV people never cook and didn't understand why they build kitchens in those homes, do you agree?", now THAT depends entirely on the people. Our neighbors eat out virtually every night: the wife is pretty much anti-cooking. We, on the other hand, eat out probably once a month. Twice a month at most. The reason being that my wife (Thai) is one fantastic cook who loves cooking, and as I love eating, it is a match made in heaven.

I cook and we mainly eat at home. Fridays and Saturdays we may get something out.

We never eat breakfast or lunch out and dinner we eat out maybe once per week. It's not a cost issue with us as we have all the money we need, it's a health issue. We both try to stay trim and fit and that's darn hard to do with restaurant food.

I never cook and I mean never , the last 5 homes i sold here came with unused stoves and dishwashers. I only use plastic utensils and plates when I’m home . I eat out most nights the rest of time takeout ,I never eat lunch , just a protein drink and I eat a lot of fruit , I do make in morning 100% liquid eggs and some brown rice from a steamed bag put it in bowl for 2 minutes and then add some extra virgin olive oil if that’s cooking I’m guilty

I like to cook, but am not a foodie. (Foodie has a somewhat snobby connotation to me). Simple stuff, nothing fussy. I like fresh ingredients, but am not opposed to envelope spices, pre-made sauces, or frozen convenience foods. I cook lots of pasta, chicken, and crockpot/air fryer meals.

We also eat out or carry out at least twice a week. We try to avoid going out on weekends, especially during season. We eat our “big meal” between 2-4pm, right between the lunch and dinner rushes.

I’m amazed at what some people spend to create “show kitchens” who pass through them only to get something out of the fridge!

Very true, generally I do the cooking and my wife does the cleaning.

Works for us.

Rarely eat out but not because of any restrictions, just never has been my cup of tea. That and I consider eating in general, a complete waste of time. I only do it to survive.
Generally make a whole lot of 1 or 2 items (lasagna, yellow rice with fish or chicken) that will last me for the week. Put some on a plate, nuke it and I'm free to go out and do some fun stuff.

Wife and I eat out once a week, either Lopez or City Fire. Both have very good food and great ambiance. Staffs are A+.

me too, I do all the cooking, meal planning, and prep work...wife grocery shops with me, sets the table and helps with clean up

we'll eat out once a week...usually lunch, never breakfast

before covid we ate out more often...but the restaurants in TV would go belly up if they were in the real world and didn't have this captive market...and they go after the market of people that don't want to cook and want moderate prices....that said, there's a few that we like and take visitors to

before we retired and came to TV we ate out often and had 'take out' delivered often....but never on a Sunday or a holiday...on those days we always cooked

but everybody's different as you can see from reading this thread...and that's what makes TV cool

do your own thing, life is short
