I just flew from LGA (NYC) to MCO (Orlando). We were in the Villages for two weeks getting back to NYC yesterday. We had not flown for about a year.

The trips were both uneventful. The uncomfortable, annoying, ridiculous regulations were still in place made worse by mask wearing inside both planes & at LGA.

There was no fighting. The plane was quite. There were a lot less kids probably due to time of year. It seems the interior of the planes keep getting tighter & more uncomfortable. Covid announcements both in LGA & aboard the plane were relentless.

Prior to this trip & the year or so of not flying at all, we had been flying back & forth btwn LGA & MCO every few months for about six years. The flights were always full & had many children & babies. They were uncomfortable & irritating and we wouldnt have bothered but we had family in the Villages so it was important to put up with it.

We were on a Southwest flight in September and our flight was delayed because they had to kick a family off the plane due to not wearing their masks properly, it was the parents who didn’t comply. No violence but the mom left crying.

Some of these comments demonstrate just how sick and pathetic some people are. Made up news? Just to prove the anti- mask people wrong. Very sad commentary on the degrading of American intelligence. I fly allot. I talk to flight crew all the time - some recognize me I fly so much. EVERY ONE has a personal story. And - most are related to either anti-mask or alcohol - often the combination of the two. Biden the laughing stock the world? NO - it is the population that has lost their critical thinking ability - and have found a home in fringe and dangerous politics - seeing a lie from every source. This is why we have a society of anti-science!

One time they took some guy off of a flight, but really don’t know why. The rumors were he was unruly, but don’t know who!

I have flown 4 times during the pandemic and have not seen any really bad behavior on any of the American, Spirit and Southwest flights I took. I did have a 4 hour delay on a connecting flight in Louisville, KY and at that time I was in a wheelchair due to an injury and after a few hours the pilot came up to me and another lady in a wheelchair and asked if we would like him to get us a sandwich. We both said yes and opened our purses and he said "No I'll get it." He asked what we would like to drink and then out of his own pocket he bought us and a third person in a wheelchair sandwiches and drinks. Also Southwest gave me a $200 voucher. I got into MCO at 1 am and got home about 2:30 am. Thankfully the Village Van is 24/7 because Workman transport for The Villages was closed by then.

However, to digress a bit, the top 3 methods to stop the virus, in order of efficacy are:
1) vaccinate
2) social distance
3) masks

A year ago, the airlines did what they could---there was no vaccine, they left the middle seat open, and they required masks.

This year is a different game:
They do not require a vaccine to fly, although they could, ignoring #1
They opened up the middle seat and pack you in like sardines, ignoring #2

But if you don't abide by their strict enforcement of #3 they go ape shcrazy, even though that is a distant third in virus mitigation at this point. I flew Southwest not too long ago---you still had to put your mask on between bites, yet they seated someone whose face was 2 feet away from mine in the middle seat, her mask was not even worn properly, and she was coughing and sneezing for the full 4 1/2 hours. Basically, they are kidding themselves.

As a flight attendant with a major US airline for well over 30 years, I have watched our profession degrade as the airline industry transitioned from "something special in the air" to Greyhound standards. With affordability came accessibility; indifference replaced anticipation in our passengers. Complaints of limited personal space are certainly valid, considering the average BMI today. Mandated vaccines and masks have tipped the scale. Mask compliance has replaced liquor and smoking issues for the majority of passenger misconduct reports. Although the majority of flights take off and land without incident, there certainly are more, for good reasons,

Haven’t flown since Covid started, but supposedly there have been over 4000 incidents since the airlines have started up again.

My daughter was on a flight recently in the US where someone would not stop using her cell phone, started yelling at everyone and they took her off the flight.
