Call Community Watch to report him . I reported a gate keeper once who wouldn't open the gate on the guest side, for anyone because he was not looking up from his book, or game, or what ever he was doing. Cars were getting backed up. Honking didn't even get his attention. He eventually looked up and said "Oh, I guess you want me to open the gate". So I reported him to Community Watch. They were very interested and glad I called.

So, I'm wondering what the OP was going to do about the dropped gate card if the guard had opened the gate? Just drive off, leave it on the ground and order a new one? If OP was so far away from the button that OP couldn't reach out the window and push it, then OP had room to open the car door and retrieve the gate card and use it to open the gate.

Call Ed Ingalls @ 217-433-1394. He can install a microchip inside the housing of you driver’s side mirror and this won’t happen again. He’s licensed, insured, and guarantees the chip to work. It’s $39, yes higher than the other guy, but Ed is the only one who stands behind his work. Tell him Bev said to call.

We’ll I think maybe you just got the one gate that Scrooge was working. I really think most gate security would of let you in. But I don’t know what gate security are suppose to do or not to do. Personally I don’t think it would of been the end of the world to push the button in the gate shack for you. Guess they must of thought they were a little god! Just make sure you never wave at the security at this gate, & just let this go. Hope everything went well at the Mayo Clinic!

My experience is that 99% of the people working for The Villages (gate people, golf "ambassadors", etc.) go out of their way to be friendly and courteous. Now and then you get a toad but that's pretty rare at least in my experience, and the toads don't seem to last long.

We've found that this can happen at starter shacks on the executive courses, usually with a new worker who is still trying to figure out the computer system with the tee times while answering questions from patrons. Easy to get overwhelmed and to turn a little bit brusque in cases like that. Once they figure things out they're a lot more polite. Usually a smile and "sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt" works wonders.

I think pushing the “red button” is what triggers the plate camera in the resident lane when a card is not swiped. The visitor lane takes a picture of every plate that passes through. He probably could have been more accommodating to your situation, but I think there was a reason and policy for his insistence of pushing the button.

My husband is a gate attendant and would never think of doing that. It was totally uncalled for. He needs to be reported to Community Watch. If management doesn’t know when these things happen they can’t fix it.

Based on one incident that was reported from a likely biased driver, you conclude he is a very angry human being?

Give me a break....

Well he does seem to be angry quite a bit in different posts , but everyone looks at small daily mishaps differently

And all these posts base that on the original poster's comments, correct?
