Easier to simply ask me. I do know that most people who are perusing The Villages web listings from afar aren't going to call the sales office everytime they click on a link.

Yes. And I certainly wouldn't if I didn't know that it is very unlikely that they will "hound" you. I hate being hounded and it is one of the reasons that I liked dealing with our sales agent for The Villages. Overall, Villages sales agents are the least annoying bunch of home sellers I have run into. I just hate being "sold". Hate it.

Same here. A simple blurb on the site would clear up any confusion.

Yes, it should be clear from the listing whether it's a family-friendly community or part of the retirement community.
I think The Villages is trusting the fact that if someone is serious about purchasing in TV, they will contact the Sales Office to make their needs known. If they have young children, they'll be directed to subdivisions that allow children.
If they are serious buyers, I assume a Villages Sales Rep will educate them on the fact that children-friendly subdivisions aren't part of The Villages Retirement Community.

The ONLY place I can find listings for Oxford Oaks is under "Family". There are six area divisions including;

Orange Blossom Hills
Spanish Springs
Lopez Legacy
Lake Sumter Landing
Brownwood
Family

When I was looking to purchase in TV, I would look at the listing for a particular model of house. Then, I examined all homes within my price range.

While my sale agent was good, he was so laid back that if I didn’t ask the question, I would never know.

We were fortunate enough to have family already living here before we moved. We gained a lot of information from them. I'd be interested to know how many new Villagers we have each year who move here based strongly on recommendations from those of us who already live here. I currently have three friends who are considering relocating here when they retire. I look forward to helping them with questions they have about The Villages.

Its a shame that this information is not represented in the listings......and some people who dont know any better will buy in those neighborhoods not knowing the real information.....
Ditto, this is for the professionals,(doctors, lawyers) and sales Representatives. Our's moved there to put his children in the Charter School, his wife also became a sales rep for The Villages.

Maybe some people will buy there knowing these facts if all their going to use are the stores restaurants on 466, the Country Club Restaurants, the Squares. etc. Much is open to the public. They would probably install their own pools like those of us in Villages with no Community Pool.

The Oxford Oaks listings are gone from The Villages sales site and I believe that is a good thing.

Why?

That area, and the website are both owned by the Morses whose business it is to sell their own properties.

Last week I saw a listing on the site for a two story home on several acres of land at a place I had not heard of called Sumter Crossing. When I looked at it on the map it was next to a place that had a street with the name of our builder. The home in Sumter Crossing's ad showed it was "not in the Villages". Many folks moving here are professionals with children. They may be interested in someplace nearby.

Many others and I were confused by whose house would have what amenities. I believe that those who are in control of the site also felt that there was confusion as to the amenities. They are going to do what is best from a business standpoint and I agree with them on this issue. The listings may return organized differently.

I love the Villages & I can tell you there's a lot of things here I've learned that I was never told about good & bad. But if you're looking for Amenities, yes we've surely got them, but I do know some people that don't use any of them. I'm out of state right now & I can tell you groceries, clothing, utilities & about everything else in the Villages are more expensive, but then again it just depends where you come from. I've got to say the people here are very friendly & are like family!
