But you are one of the kindest, caring, most honest people (persons?) I have ever known and am proud to call you my friend. What you see is what you get. Thank you for being you.

It's how my husband has felt all along..........re the prices and what you get for them. It sounds as if you have the best of all worlds.......

Is your Del Webb the one near Tampa or the one in Summerfield, Florida?
I'm not sure if Spruce Creek is a Del Webb community? I know that Stonecrest is built by Armstrong Homes.......

My husband's cousin lives in Spring Hill north of Tampa but below Brooksville, Florida...........not sure if that is a Del Webb.

Again, thanks for sharing and we do value your insight.
I live in Spruce Creek/Del Webb in Summerfield, it was built by Del Webb, although there are houses also built by Pulte and another builder (I don't know the name) I did look at Del Webb in Tampa in 2004 but we did not like the location.

O.K......looked at a map to see were both communities were.
Thank you.....

We plan to look at it all.........the sooner the better, hopefully.

Default Stonecrest advertising

Agree with Rubicon. When we were exploring retirement places in Central FL we noticed that many advertised that they were "close to The Villages." We wanted to be IN The Villages...not just close to The Villages. Stonecrest is going to have to change their advertising and delete the part about "golf cart" access to The Villages. If someone wants golf cart access to The Villages then they are going to have to buy in The Villages. Surprised that the developer has not shut down outside golf cart access well before this. They are in this to sell property/homes and make money and not friends. The residents outside of The Villages end up dealing with the results of the decisions.

Unless I'm going senile, Gracie, you did say over and over again that you were a teacher. Do you have a twin sister???? Either that, or someone is impersonating you when you are sleeping.

To be a teacher, one has to go to college and then some.

Why is Grace's occupation/education in this debate? Divulge your education and occupation, Senior, and maybe we'll start a new thread.

But... getting back to business. I find it interesting that you, Senior, have assumed the position that The Villages business model needs to be tweeked to accommodate Stonecrest.

Of further interest on your position regarding the gate matter is the fact that you are not invested here and really wouldn't be bothered by removing the gate. Do you counsel NY City also as to how they should run their business model? If you live in The Villages, you MAY have a greater understanding of the issue.

Have you considered the homes that align the access path through The Villages and the additional noise/fumes they are subjected to by allowing additional cart traffic?

Please take all of the above into consideration and leave the occupations and education of others out of the thread.

the gate will not keep Stonecrest residents out: they have friends who will meet them at the gate or share their passes.

Ooper, again you are very mistaken in your statements. Stonecrest people mostly use Public roads to get to the Crossover Bridge and then most often just park in the lot over the Bridge. If they do travel in Spanish Springs, it is on Public roads not the multiple-modal paths.

Mostly, if they go to Sumter Landing, it is by auto, as it is a bit far by cart.

So, your fears of use or over-use of the multi-modal paths by Stonecrest carts is a gross exaggeration and not based on facts.

I believe public roads within The Villages in Marion county were built the same as as Sumter and Lake Counties. The only roads built by TV are the roads within the villa communities, which is the same thoughout TV. Public roads are just that, public roads. That is why we cannot have a true "gated" community and have to allow access to anyone... the fact that the roads were built with public funds and not the developer's funds. We cannot exclude the public.

Simply put, she asked me for a definition of a phrase.

Having stated many times she was a teacher, I figured she'd know the definition.

The rest I shall ignore as you are blowing it out of proportion re innocent dialogue and "back and forth" commentary between many posters and myself..........always learning something new on TOTV.

First off, I don't have any fears of over use, that was from another poster. Secondly, is not the path at the base of the bridge going through the park area as well as the path where they are putting the gate in where "the wall" was located, both multimodal paths? The path at the west end of the bridge around the tip of the pond is also a multimodal path.

Yes, best to ignore the fact that commentary regarding the gate would probably be most relative if its from the property owners in the two communities being discussed.

Senior. I can't be serious for very long. I was a kindergarten teacher and I say I am uneducated because most of what I learned when I sat next to Martha Washington in el ed classes at Ohio State has now been replaced with new and more current stuff.

I am not an English major. We love to pull their legs on this forum.

I am always up for a little fun.

A sense of humor is hard to convey in print sometimes.

Then you would be wrong!

We just saw a car driving on the multi-modal path along Belvedere. Could it be a disgruntled Stonecrester??
