As far as total population, there seems to be no current info other than my wiki link and reported, but not linked info on Daily Sun. Never mind, my point about new town centers stands, if my info on new home sales for 2017 is accurate. If you say there will be 40,000 new residents, that's about 20,000 new home sales. You can do the math. Could take 20 years to sell out. Last edited by GoodLife; 01-03-2018 at 11:47 PM. |

The 157,000 number is from Wikipedia. Good to keep in mind that the site is far from official. Here's what they say:

Yes, I have read that Wikipedia article. It's wrong and has been showing that number for quite a while.
Here is my reference: The Villages Daily Sun, October 9, 2017 Flurry of Store Openings Highlight Vitality - The Villages Daily Sun: Growth "Population growth accounts for all this continuing growth in the retail, restaurant and service industries. For example, The Villages welcomed about 1,725 new neighbors just from March through August. That means 115,656 people now live in the Lake, Marion and Sumter county sections of The Villages. Of the total, 10,416 residents live in Marion, 14,355 in Lake and 90,885 in Sumter." |

According to RCLCO, sales were 2,294 in 2015 and 1,966 in 2016. ->http://www.rclco.com/pub/doc/RCLCO-S...NAL-V2-web.pdf
And, mid-year 2017 sales for the Villages were 983 -> RCLCO Advisory: Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities: Mid-Year Update 2017 With sales averaging around 2,200 per year, it would take about 7 years to add 30,000 to The Villages population. I believe this is a reasonable estimation. |

It's appx five miles, as the crow flies, miles from LSL to Brownwood. Unless TV develops further than five miles south of 44, I don't see another town square.
Right now, Fenny is less than four miles from Brownwood.

The property south of Leesburg that The Villages is trying to purchase is more than 5 miles from Brownwood and LSL is less than 5 miles from Spanish Springs. I believe the population numbers will be the driving force behind the possible building of a new town square in 7 to 10 years. Remember, far larger numbers of people at the current squares are not what most view as a good thing.

Probably a hard concept to pull off. But, something to do with NASA and Cape Canaveral would be something really wild. Bars with outer space design and lots of rockets and astronauts and a zero gravity bar.

agree, but I also take the Daily Sun with a huge grain of salt as well. The Wiki on TV has about 60 cites that it is based on, The Daily Sun article lists zero cites.
