They are too young for Disney, bowling, miniature golf, fishing, etc. so visits down here tend to be a bit boring for them.
This is a retirement community and most of us didn't move here to please young grand kids for one week out of the year. To tell you the truth I can't believe how many movies they have playing that can only be for kids. My wife and I look at the movies playing and all we see is Ironman, Superman, Spider man, etc. Nothing we want to see.

So, you've done a poll to assure you that you are in the majority? Based on the number of older grand kids that I see around here, I would say you are in the minority.

As far as the movies are concerned, I assume they are there to make a profit. Those that choose the movies do so with respect to which ones will draw the most people.

.
Your original post talked about grandkids that were too young for Disney and that was what I was talking about. To me too young for Disney would probably be about 3 or 4.

TX Roadhouse might not be Old World Florida, but its design has a cowboy look about it with rough boards, peanuts on the floor, etc.. Plus, they sell more steak than anything else. Just seems like a good fit to me! Plus they serve good food at very reasonable prices. It would certainly fits the theme better than City Fire Grill...IMHO.

Long Horns much better than Tx Rosdhouse. Just my opinion. To each his own

Steakhouse opened a couple years ago in LSL............didn't last a year. Food was reported to be very good...............no one supported the $15 steaks.

And therein my dear lies the basic problem. Not that a lot of people don't have the bucks but they are now on a fixed income and being careful to see that they don't outlive it.

Restaurants just can't have entrees over the twelve dollar range and survive. Maybe for a treat or once in awhile will people spend for a more expensive meal, but not usually.

Texas Roadhouse is not expensive. Unless you buy their special behind glass cuts. Just because people live in The Villages does not make them poor. Otherwise they would not live in The Villages. But, many of the place mentioned are right outside "The Bubble".

More important would be to have restaurants stay open later and movies to run later. Don't close everything down at 2130.

a New Orleans style "Mimi's Cafe", a smokehouse "County Line", a high quality French restaurant, and seafood restaurants such as Wildfish Seafood Grille and Gulfstream, a high end Mexican restaurant such as Javier's, Dillard's, Nordstrom, Costco

Don't hold your breath. Especially for the high quality French restaurant. Ain't gonna happen.
