Why not have two? It may make more sense for team sports but golf is an individual sport. So there is nothing preventing players from participating in both so you would still have the best competing against the best if there are no exclusive rules in place.

Let the free market decide. It is a sport, not a religion.

I’m all for competition in this country. It typically results in lower prices snd better products and services.
In this case(golf) how is the product going to be better when the best players do not compete against each other and playing different formats?

Lower prices correct. LIV and/or Stub Hub was selling tickets for less than $10 and they were playing one hour away from large metro area.

Finally someone saying the right thing. The PGA makes more money than you know. Why does PGA Golf supersede the regular scheduled programs if they run overtime?

I remember long ago back in High School, the golf teams' main job was to wash the football and basketball and baseball uniforms. No one (not even their parents) went to their events. There were no Golf Letterman sweaters.

So, I will always view Golf as some sort of novelty activity for frailish folks.

So, if they can get $100 Million for hitting a little ball into a hole .......................

About as funny as the inflation that is draining pockets. If you haven’t noticed, EVERYTHING has gone up.

Five decades later the LIV group is offering huge signing bonuses to elite players. Can one really blame the "elite" players for wanting to grab the brass ring. By they're leaving the PGA there should be more prize money for grinders, who no one seems to care about at all.

Could you imagine, showing up to qualify on monday morning, and by monday night you have to decide if you really want to continue doing this for a living. Almost as bad would be to qualify but by friday night your bag is in your trunk, and you still have no monies coming in. Again by opening up some spots at the top the grinders may make some money,

After all, this is a game, right?
I think “elite” players may be subjective in this instance.

PGA contributes to MORE charities than all professional sports combined.

Good luck to the players who signed however, nice little pension top up at the end of their careers, and a chance for some of the others to earn more than their skill level would ever make on the big boys tour!
And yet you watch a drunken womaniser pretending to golf? He’s not a good role model at all. I’d rather watch chuck Barkley, real entertainment!

The PGA Tour is a non profit organization. They give over $200 million to charity each year.

They supersede regular programming because they draw more viewers than most other programs. They also have an agreement with the networks that is mutually beneficial.

The only part of your money that the tour gets in through ticket sales and I believe that most of that goes to the venues. Most of their revenue comes from television rights which the networks happily pay millions for.
