I just don't see how you can fix something......if nobody tells you.
What's your opinion?
There are many business owners who take the time and trouble to monitor TOTV for comments about their businesses. I think this is a good idea, and I appreciate those that do so. (Stellar is another.) Sometimes people just don't want to make a fuss in public. Sometimes the manager is too busy to approach, as was probably the case with Mike as he had two no-shows and a send-home, so he was helping serve.

There are different ways to handle a problem, and different personality types of customers. Some are assertive; some are not. Some are realistic; some are unforgiving. I applaud the business owners who take it upon themselves to monitor the forum and customer review sites to get a sense of what the entire customer base is thinking.

As it turns out, we will be trying O'Shea's due to the good reviews given in this thread.

Mike,

This doesn't excuse the rudeness of the woman that came to our table that said she was in charge of the kitchen. She needs to stay in the kitchen and not interact with customers.

Bonnie, heard the singer say hello (he was great and came around to all of the tables during his break) and realized it was that Bonnie from TOTV.

Didn't want to bother you and also just wanted to get going.

I will say we all were surprised how empty the place was given the 2 for 1 burgers and the B/W event going on.

Ariel was wonderful. She got a big tip.

Not to say employees should not be treated better, however, if they got everything you suggest........would you then pay the higher prices?

Anyway, again I am personally sorry and anyone who had a bad experience please ask for me and I will do my best to make things right.
Thanks for your post. I've read all the posts and it appears you had employee "problems" all the way back into July. It is well known how difficult it is to find and keep good restaurant employees. Employees are going to work and stay working in the places where they have good overall working conditions including wages and benefits.

I suspect that there is considerable competition for good cooks, servers and other restaurants employees in TV. So called Mom and Pop "shops" have a difficult time staying in business. Oshea's is a sports bar and as such will make most of their profits from drinks not the food they serve. That said--- Oshea's might want to adjust their food menu to something they can deliver to customers in a satisfactory manner.

Since we drink very little and the Sports Bar scene is not where we regularly eat, I doubt we will become a regular customer of this restaurant. We do like to support Local business and I wish Oshea's the best.

A good server in a place like this can easily earn 3 times the minimum wage if they choose to apply themselves.

Good for Mike for manning up and explaining the situation.

You are correct it does not excuse that , as I do not have a female running my kitchen I took your situation to coach all my employees. I brought everyone in early (paid) to discuss the details of Wednesday and the corrections to be made. As for the treatment of my employees, I do the best that my price point allows, I always support them when they are correct and coach them when they are wrong. I feel that if I have to fire someone, unless for gross negligence, it is my fault. I have never asked them to do anything I wouldn't. My whole point for my original post was to apologize and let people know it was an aberration not a regularity. Again I am personally sorry for Wednesday.

It's a restaurant! No different than any other restaurant. They pay the waiter minimum and a good server can make decent money. Why pick on O'Sheas?

The manager sounds like an upfront guy. Let's see if he can coach them to success. I'll give em a try next week (haven't been in many months).

His explanation does not address tha many post that omplain about the quality of the food. Poor food is the responsibility of the manager and or owner.

Default o sheas never again

I have never eaten there but for the manager to come on this forum and apologize is something I respect and because of that I will give it a try and hope it is better. I really would like to see this place make it of course it all starts with the people that run it and work there.
