Default Oh dear...I'll be good!

I hope I'll like TV...they have deer up here in Pennsylvania and they make a mess in our yard. I also hope there are no Canada Geese in The Villages. Talk about poop!

I have only allowed my dogs to go in my yard since then and it has kept my neighbors happy and with little inconvenience to me or my dogs. Probably no one has confronted you about this, but beleive me, there are likely several neighbors who feel you are persona non grata because of this. I am telling you this because I have found you to be a reasonable and respectful person, and would assume you did not want hard feelings with your neighbors.
Do you teach PR at the Learning Center? Well-spoken words to get the point across. Congrats!

If you get caught you'd be peeing jail, totally illegal, you exposed innocent UPS workers to who knows what.

That is most spineless STUPID trick I heard of.
Moreover, to brag about it on a public forum you are shabby.

Why don't you guys have the guts to talk to your neighbor.

Really?? Your dog's outside barking and you didn't bring him in till the police came. Maybe they shouldn't have called police, but it's a bit much to expect your neighbor to come and complain to you. If you can hear your dog barking assume it's bothersome to your neighbors. This is a more of a pet peeve than a dog pooping in my yard. As a dogowner, it's my responsibility to make sure my dog is not barking and annoying others. I shouldn't wait for my neighbor to get up the nerve to come complain to me before I'm "more than willing & happy to solve the problem."

I didn't hear the dog, my windows were closed the air conditioner was on, I was watching television, and I have hearing loss. I could have heard the telephone however, had my neighbor chosen to call me instead of the police.

Yup...I’m afraid you are. And I'm so sorry, because it's not right, but unfortunately, corner lots are the prime peeing areas. I'm a dog owner and I never, ever let my dogs walk on other people's property...but so many people do. Just please realize that for every inconsiderate @$#%%# dog owner out there...there are many, many more dog owners who are responsible and care about their neighbors.

Amen to that. Our entire choice of homes was based on our two dogs and their needs without infringing on others. We have since put in two doggy doors, extended the lanai and pretty much made it very comfortable and safe for our dogs. They go out on the lanai each morning to catch the sun and then come in before it gets too hot. My female likes it cold so she will stay in most of the day and then sleep on the lanai at night. She also enjoys Gecko hunting but has yet to catch one. I have not sat on the lanai in a year but am glad that the dogs are enjoying it.

We had a problem as we have a corner lot and peopel think that the property on the far wall is common area and walk apparently large dogs judging by what is left behind. I am with one of the other posters about being direct. I even once picked up the dog poop and left it on the offenders door step each and every time until they got the message. For some reason they did not want to come out and "discuss" it with me.

However in the last place we lived we found out that we could not do anything about dogs on the easement as we did not own that land and therefore it was not private property. Ever try to call a cop when a dog starts pooping and have the cop arrive in time to see it happen. it is a losing situation and I found that if I returned what their dog left behind they had nothing they could say about it and would choose some more passive homeowner's place to walk their dog.

Are there rules regarding barking dogs? What recourse does someone in TV have if a neighbor leaves a barking dog out on a screened lanai? Dog lovers please be kind and not shoot the messenger. The rest of us have rights too.
I am not new here and you have every right to post this. Do not feel you have to justify your post due to all the "get the pop corn out again", "lol, lol", "why post this? just search it" etc etc remarks.
I too have a corner lot and a dog. He goes in MY yard ONLY. I too watch totally inconsiderate (cause they are not ignorant) residents allowing their dogs on twenty foot leases urinate and poop on everyone else's lawn but not their own (yes we see them come down their driveway walk up three houses to corner lot then right back hm, down comes the garage door). And I don't believe I should have to make up a story to inform the dog owners that guess what this is my property. I like the idea of the posse on many other subjects, I wish the posse wd side with the distessed property owners on this one.

So here is my question, Please there MUST be ONE you dog owners described above on TOTV reading this subject and all the other times it has been raised. Please, please just one of you specifically JUSTIFY why you take your dogs to deficate on your neighbors property.

To offer a bit of clarification: My suggestion (from earlier in the thread) to also do a few Searches was not implying that the O.P. shouldn't have started the thread. Sorry if you read that into it. The purpose was focused on hopefully encouraging people to utilize the Search function who perhaps might not even be aware of its existence. There are plenty of historical threads on the topic that can be perused......in addition to whatever else might be posted on it in this thread.

Thanks -
Bill

With so many threads about this unsavory subject I must add another "con" to the pro/con list.

I don't think you can target your dog to go exactly when and where you want.....when nature calls the dog does what it must without regard as to where.

Most dawgs have their "spot" where they target as doing their "big business". Through the years, my dawgs have always liked a certain area......and I have programmed the dawg by saying, "Let's go, let's go".....in that area (while she is going). Lexi....current dawg....likes to go to the side of the patio....and when I walk her down by the cul-de-sac, she knows exactly the area she can "do her thing" in the common area. It's common sense that no one likes to have their grass fertilized by dawgs....and when the dawg does "big business" in common area, it is promptly removed.
