Final proposition (and I usually don't proposition strangers......Oh wait you're neighbors, not strangers): In some of the "older", "more established neighborhoods" I understand there are regular "driveway gatherings" (planned events - usually weekly and rotating from house to house. These usually begin at the cocktail hour (5-ish) and I think they include drinks and potluck hors d'ourves (sp?) Is Gilchrist becoming established enough to begin this tradition? I think we're about there, and Dave and I would be glad to share our driveway for the first one. We were thinking maybe Thursday, Feb 28th? Anyone interested?

Definately we would be up for that, sounds like a great idea

What: Inaugural Gillyland Driveway Gathering
When - Thursady, February 28th, 5:00 - ish
Where: 3043 Amherst Way

Bring your favorite beverage and a snack to share. We will provide ice tea and limited soft drinks for those who are the designated drivers. We will also have cups and ice, paper plates, nametags, etc.

Another thought occurred to me in the middle of the night. You may want to throw a camp chair into your cart if you will need or want to sit. I think we have four (and maybe 2 child size chairs) and a couple of chairs from our lanai.

Thanks Rich! Looking forward to meeting you as well.
We have been back in our home in PPB since mid-January. Only a few minor tweaks yet to be done, but at least we are back! Neighborhood is strangely quiet as so many homes are still vacant - a few homes will be coming down as well - so the landscape will definitely be different going forward.
Now that the utilities have been restored in Seaside, what's next for you there? We're hearing so much bad information that it is incredible. After going thru all of this, it is certainly refreshing and uplifting to get on with the next phase of our lives, don't you think??

We are closing april 10th and moving in around may 1 or a tad sooner. We have to lay tile and put in a few other things

Janice and I had the opportunity to go out to dinner with Dave & Doreen Myers (The 3D's) last night at Sonny's Barbecue. Sir John & the Fair Lady Wendy were also in attendance. We got there early because we finally went to Market Night at the square to order our name & address sign for the house (after only 4 months). Anyway, I was starving and I get a message from Dave that they are running behind due to the realtor being late and other delays with the design process.

Andy & Wendy get there on time...no, really!!! Dave & Doreen get there just a little late and we were regaled with the tales of their planning session! To make it short, they asked for everything they wanted and still came in under budget!!

Over food (finally!!) we had some nice conversation and a few brews. We've come to the conclusion that we're gonna keep Dave & Doreen...
One the way home, Janice and I drove by their lot on Luraville Road. They have a really nice lot up towards the end!!

Unfortunately, they have to go back to Tampa tomorrow and we hope that they'll be back real soon!!!

So goes another fantastic addition to GillyLand!!! This place just gets more betterer and betterer!!!
