I am so proud of my wife. She has worked so hard for so long it is good to see some recognition of her charitable efforts.:eclipsee_gold_cup:
Now if only I can get her down here soon!:2excited:
A belated congrats to you Terry. We are proud to know you.
Also congrats to Andy Andreews on his award. What wonderful people we have here in TV! And you are our friends! What a bonus.

Hi All,
Get yourself around to A4's and take $2 with you. :D
He is offering pictures of himself posing in a red speedo at Mamaderby's brand new pool. :22yikes:
We have just bought one and it is not to be missed. :BigApplause:
The $2 are going to a good cause, as every cent is being put into the Gillyland finances in the safe hands of our Treasurer, where it will be spent wisely after Jimbo's bail fund is provided.
Ladies are advised to take a companion to catch them in case they swoon at the sight that meets their eye's when they take their first look at this picture. chilout

Well if the Bail Bond is no longer required then we will have to look or another worthy cause. :0000000000luvmyhors
This sounds like a job for His Worship The Mayor and his Executive Team in order to find a cause before all the funds disappear to the Corona Brewery. :spoken:

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that The Mum is now in surgery in Charlotte, NC having a pacemaker implanted. She ended up in the hospital last Friday with a stomach virus and the doctors discovered that she had a low and irregular heartbeat. The surgery is supposed to last about an hour and a half and no problems are expected. Prayers are appreciated. I'll put up a post when I know the outcome. What a year it's been...:22yikes:

You and your Deputy Mayor need to come down to the Colony Tunnel. I've got a little trick I want to show you. :gc:
FYI, during my tunnel investigative work, I put up a picture of you in the tunnel asking for info regarding the tunnel incident. As carts drove by your picture, the riders were raising their fingers. Since they did not slow down, it was difficult to see if they were saying you were #1?
The last driver slowed down, held up 3 fingers and yelled, "read between the lines!" Boy, she was not a happy camper!

It's been a month since we returned home after our wonderful 15 days at Gilchrist. Wondering how construction is coming in the neighborhood. We are on Regency and there were several open lots when we left.
Sure are missing it back there. Rode my motorcycle to work today and it was about 50 degrees outside.

Last week they broke ground on the last 5 lots on the west side of Regency. Here's three shots from our front yard:

One builder got the first 4 in a row and the last one is a different builder. There's one vacant lot on the east side of Regency with no signs of breaking ground (lot #69). I think the 5 lots on the west side of Euclid will start in the next 2 weeks.

We toyed with this idea once before and now there are more in the neighborhood, then His Worship the Mayor really needs an 'Official' vehicle for himself and the Lady Mayoress to tour their constituency; :pepper2:
Maybe we could form a development committee to grab money off the Treasurer before it is consumed and put to good use on such a sterling project. :beer3:
We could even have a naming ceremony when it is completed; :pepper2:

Thank you Mr. Mayor!
The Village Office move is now complete but I have one question, what about your woodshop? Where would you like for it to be? You need to consider placement very carefully, you do not want to disturb your neighbors during your late night sawing. Speaking of sawing, your request for more wooden planks has been placed and shipment will arrive in 2-4 weeks.
FYI, all of the paperwork related to Gillyland covert activities from Jan to Aug has been shredded. Plus, the Gillyland drone tapes have been converted to DVDs.

Oh, are you aware that Teryl has been representing Gillyland with football picks in The Daily Sun? He is such a handsome dude in that picture!
Anyhow, let's talk about his football picks. The first week, I went with him all the way and since he got half of his picks right, I lost my shirt! His second time around, I decided to agree with 25% of his picks.
Well, he got them all right and I lost more than my shirt! Now I'm having trouble paying the boys in Vegas. The Gillyland treasury is empty (thanks to you know who) and The Mayor is unable to raise my salary. So I will be coming to you for a loan and for advice how to bet with Teryl's picks for this weekend.
Thank you for your understanding and I do accept checks!

Hello Gillylander's.
My name is Rich and my wife's name is Hannah.
Boy, do I wish I saw this thread months ago.
We closed on our Sunflower the first week in July. We bought the lot 209-85 on Amherst, last October. We were waiting until we sold our house and dropped enough hints for the last of our kids to finally leave the nest. We met with the designers near the end of April and it is unbelievable how they were able to give us our closing date 75 days out.
FYI - Hannah is the one who spearheaded the community garage sale last weekend.

It took me a couple days to read through all 458 pages. ;)
We have some friends in village of Caroline and knew 6 years ago that we were coming up here. It was just a matter of time.
So what is the story behind your avatar? Were you an A-4 driver?

Sorry it's taken me so long to post these pics but the last few weeks have been challenging...lol.
HotRod and myself and another couple were playing golf a week or so ago and she saw there someone have put up a sign for a Gator Pettin' Zoo. She decided to take advantage of the opportunity and mosied down to take a look at the cute 'lil gator. :a040: While trying to pet said gator she suddenly decided she didn't want to when said gator decided to move in her direction.
So much for gator pettin'......:undecided:
Sorry for the finger in the way in the second pic put I was trying to focus too quickly!!!!

Well, it seems that the Director of Signage has struck again :1rotfl::1rotfl:...this time at the residence of Hizzonor, Da Mayor! :evil6:
The sign was well done and it's obvious that great care was taken in it's crafting! :a040:
The only problem is that people now think that our last name is Mayer...:1rotfl::1rotfl:
I'd like to thank Dep. Mayer BS for his attention to detail. Don't worry Dep Mayer, you've already been thrown under the bus. The culprits will forever remain secret. And you know that us politicians always keep our word. ;)
Oh yea, one last thought. Now that people know where the Mayer lives, could someone please find the Mayers Office. I haven't seen it since it was relocated from the south end of the house to the west end. :rant-rave: Oh well, if I can't go to the office I guess I'll just have to take a nap...:mornincoffee:

We got BOO-ed and then got RE-BOO-ed. So we had 2 BOO's on the front door.
So here's a sad story. My driver (Cathy) and I went down to "The Cat House" (Shawn & Freddie's) to Boo them. The place is dark and my driver had the cart parked in the street ready for a fast get-a-way. I sneak up to the front door, Drop off my delivery, hit the door bell, and before I can turn to run, the door comes FLYING open and the person in the doorway is yelling "WHO ARE YOU" !!! As I'm trying to run and stumbling through their shrubs, again I hear the voice yelling, "YOU WITH THE LONG LEGS . . . . I KNOW WHO YOU ARE". The lesson learned here is never conduct Night Operations when you're wearing Crocks. You can't run in those things. (I'm glad she wasn't packing . . . . . )

This pink flamingo is doing the rounds
It’s going around the village in leaps and bounds
Just shows how crazy in Gilchrist we are
No wonder we spend so much time at the bar
It made us jump when we went outside
We almost let our composure slide
Now we are struggling to solve the clue
The ‘Manfred’ puzzle is sending us blue
Let us hope he finds his way back home soon
Maybe by singing a Happy Xmas tune
As the meaning of Manfred is a ‘Good Peace’
May the message of this riddle and symbol never cease
As it all helps to spread good Xmas cheer
We are off to get another frothy beer

No Worries about the name Janice! We look forward to meeting everyone when we get down there. :) We'll be unloading our "POD" the weekend of Jan 18... stop by and say hi! (Brinkley Lane)
Paula:
Will be sure to! I'm only there a week with cousin Rita but want people to count more than stuff so it'll happen! I'm on Hillstream.
I've never seen such a sense of community anywhere! People were telling me I belonged in TV long before I had heard of it. We're all very lucky to have each other. I can tell this already.
Kids gave me Christmas gifts for "the Florida house" .. It all feels so great!
Hope all are having a wonderful Christmas! :mademyday:

Merry Christmas fellow Gillys. Yes, it's still Christmas where we are. MamaDerby, so glad you are FINALLY headed home for good. Welcome to all our "new" neighbors. You will soon find yourselves busier than you ever imagined -- and having more fun. Sorry to miss the "ball drop" on New Year's Eve. We miss you all and will be back home before we know it.

Please post pictures - we will miss the event but can hardly wait to see what you guys have come up with.... Waterford like NYC??? See you Jan 3.

First off, a BIG THANKS to the Flintstones for the design and build on our NYE Ball. You are wonderful people. I wish I could attach the video of the actual Ball Event. All I have are a couple of pictures of the Ball being set up and tested before the party started. Then there is a picture of part of the crowd. Thanks for the pictures MaMa Derby and Ole' Bishop. Two different people counted well over 300 people when midnight rolled around. For those who slept through the event . . . . . :boom:

I Have a question for my future Gilchrist neigbors. We are packing "The Pod", and keep debating on the lawnmower. How many of you do the lawn yourself...is it worth keeping? I hate to give up valuable room in the pod if we are going to end up hiring someone to do it anyway!!

Lawn mowing service is not expensive in TV but you get what you pay for. The services will not usually be as good as if you do it. If you are picky about your lawn and plants do it yourself, if not, you can easily find someone to do it for you.

50-70 month in the summer and 25-35.00 in the winter months, you can get fertilizer service 390.00 year superior.
I paid more for fuel in the north then i do in the south to get it mowed, sell the mower to the neighbors , you will want your garage space in the villages. no sheds allowed.

Pod is PACKED...(with the lawnmower IN it...) and it heads out on it's way to The Villages tomorrow! We don't head out for another week.... going to be fun living in a relatively empty house for a week..but the reward is on the other end! Luckily, our house down there is a furnished model, so we still have furniture here till the stepkids take it all in a few days. Then ..well... should be interesting!
See you in a little more than a week!

Just moved into the Gilchrist community a few days before Christmas. Needless to say the people/neighbors are just great! We attended the NYE Ball celebration and were already included in various holiday festivities. We made the right decision in moving from the South Jersey area.

Do you know in which section/unit of Gilchrist your home will be located?
The Village of Gilchrist is divided into six "development units" (Units 209 - 214) plus two villas (Atmore and Sharon). "Gilchrist West," is the unofficial name for the western three units (211, 212, & 213), including the two villas (Atmore and Sharon). We "West Gillies" have an email discussion group, a Face Book Group, several golf groups, a dine-out group, and publish a monthly e-newsletter. Heck, we even have a logo. Perhaps you'll be joining us.

Greg and I moved into our new home early this month. We are on Eastfield Path and originally from Greendale, WI. I am recently retired from home health nursing and Greg is a CPA and is still working in his field. I enjoy bicycling, walking, and golfing, and am open to try other activities as I find time.

We, Chris and Bruce, are from Glendale, WI. We are moving in during April after our home sells. Even if our home does not sell in WI, I will be here. Chris will come down later after estate sales and closing on that home. What type of TV and Internet service do you have?

I priced out the pods and the extra charges scared me off. I used upack.com
They provide a metal box with two big doors and the size is 6' x 7' x 8' tall.
I was about 20 % less than a pod, but a bit smaller.
We packed it in Wisconsin on December 31, they delivered it to our driveway on January 6. Worked well for us.

We still have a condo in Greendale. I have a home business (tax work) so, I need to stay here to April 15th also. My wife is on Eastfield Path and enjoying the 60's while I endure the -0 temps here.
I signed up for Brighthouse internet and cable. You can search on this forum for their number. The first month is also free, and the internet speed is over 30MPS download and 2 up.

Will do that. I spoke with a Customer Service Representative from Brighthouse yesterday evening. He said they did not serve that area. How crazy is that? I am very interested in getting that service at our home on Olustee Place.
My wife retired on December 31. I am part-time with a life insurance company in Milwaukee. I will pull the plug as soon as I move my stuff here, which should be early April. We look forward to meeting youse guys!

Greg, I'd like to speak with you to aid us in understanding our move from Wisconsin. Looks like we will both be in WI until April and we could talk over the phone. I have looked at Upack and have questions as to how much you moved and whether TV allows the cubes to be left on your new driveway. I will send you a message.

Gone for three weeks and we come back to the crazy culprits of Gilchrist giving us The Bird! I don't mean a nice roasted turkey but instead, an very, very, pink flamingo. Now, if I can just get Dave to pass him along. . . apparently, Pink Flamingo likes the show, "Gold Rush".
Can't think of a nicer guy to get "The Bird" than Fred. Wilma, however, definitely does not deserve it...:rant-rave:

:BigApplause:
Seems as though we now have a Village Poet Laureate in our midst. Is there a title that goes with that??? :jester:

PODs are great..you get them for a month. You can decide how you want to use that time. We worked backwards..wanted the Pod here the day after we closed. So, they told us they needed 7 days to get it to us, so we worked backwards to when it needed to be picked up..and when we first had it delivered. You pack it yourself. we had 2 weeks to pack...
They have several sizes. The advantages for us were, you can take your time loading it, and you can take however long you need to unload (within the month)

I wanted to let all of you know that Gillyland.com has been opened to all residents of the Village of Gilchrist. All you need to do is register there and you will have access to the new part of Gillyland which covers Units 211-214. Previously, this website was only open to Units 209-210. This is a very good site for posting issues and ideas that pertain to Gilchrist residents. It is a forum and can be used to alert Villagers about impending issues for security or sales purposes. Once registered, you can receive a blast notice that something is currently happening in our village. Please consider joining!
