jimbo: let me know about places/prices u find for engineered hardwoods. We are in process of having one quote done by Floors R Us but would love to know what u find...
So far but only looking for a short time in earnest, not liking the wood tones, it appears that lumber Liquidators has more choice than anyone at good prices.
They R in Orlando, may ride out this weekend.
What I'm most interested in in looking iinto deeper is solid Fl Cypress wood milled right here in FL, it is very nice at a very good cost per sq'.
Here's just one example (http://www.crackersawmill.com/products.shtml)
Our Lanai extension (about 400') will be a pergola all cypress clear coated to show the natural wood.

No why would it go smoooooth for me, I got screwed, the fiscal Cliff shut down the IRS computers, the bank couldn't get copies of my tax retiurns which R now required to close, we waited alllllll day yesterday then at 4:45 they said the IRS still hasn't emailed the the returns........
At 8:45 this morning we get a call from the TV law firm that all is set pick up the keys, we were there by 9, call the movers I had them first remove the living room carpet/padding it's ready to sell, then they started to unload, ( these guys don't know what a NY minute is they were slow as glue) we were unpacked by 3:00, but no elec, TV shut us down, so we're back in the Airstream tonight.
Power should be on in the morning have the warrantee people there at 8AM to start on my 3 page punch list.
W/D being delivered Saturday, oh fun, stopped at City Fire for a couple of Bloody Marys, went looking at engineered wood floors having a nice vegan dinner as I type.
I should be asleep soon I'm beat....we are are having a ball.
Funny how we thought the furniture would look in one place only to have the guys move it to another, you just can't plan to that fine a detail.
It's all good:pepper2:
.
Sorry you ran into problems ... Seems like there are always too many i.s to dot and t s to cross! Glad you are in there now, try to enjoy! Keep your punch list,
the rest of us closing can use it as a crib sheet... For a Merlot!
Hi to Kathy ... See you soon!

To anyone interested, Twinspin is expected to arrive in TV on Friday as their closing is next Tuesday. I know they would like to get together to meet their Gilly neighbors. Rich and I are planning on going down to Cody's Friday around 5:00pm for Happy Hour and one of our favorite entertainers is playing there too. We will stay for dinner and I have a call into Twinspin as I believe they are interested in meeting up. If anyone else is interested, the more the merrier! Hoping the weather will be a bit drier tomorrow evening. Let me know if anyone is interested and I will try to get a table for dinner around 7:00PM.
FYI, will probably be out of the house by noon tomorrow after the painters leave so if you would like to join, and it is after noon, please call my cell phone from the spreadsheet.
Thanks, Linda

Batman!!! Lee and Cion.....
Just wanted to let you know that mid to late afternoon there was activity on your lot. When I returned around 6PM they were still out there grading and beginning the trenches for plumbing!!! I am on it tomorrow for you!!! Yippee! Cannot wait to see the progress and your very large home! Congrats!!!
hotrodgirl,
Thanks for the update. You are reading my mind. I was just thinking, when will they start on our lot just before I read your post :). Guess we better quit playing and get serious about moving. Cion is working the Sony Open next week. I believe she is a walking with the players again keeping their score.

Hey Mayor -
Do me a favor. . . . . Give the poor boy one of those Extras to tide him over until I get back. He's the one who gets the dang sword and now he wants my beer. Go figure
You want me to give him my what????????. You know how they get once they achieve the status of landed gentry...:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: Don't worry, Junction29, he's good for his debt. He's already paid me off!!!

Well rats!!! I didn't read this post until 5:03 on Friday and Janice already has dinner in the oven. I'm so sorry that I've missed it. If our social coordinator had been here (...hear that Terry???) I know everything would have gone off without a hitch!!! Please make sure that Twinspin knows to drop by and say hello!!!

Twinspin, where are you?:welcome: Unfortunately, we did not meet up with Twinspin this evening. Not sure if they decided to stay another day in Disney??
Rich and I went to Cody's and it wasn't our favorite vocalist playing after all. We stayed until about 6:30 and decided to eat a home cooked meal tonight. :icon_hungry: I guess I have to remember, everyday is not vacation and have a home where we can cook also.:undecided:
Rich and I will be leaving on Tuesday to go back to the cold and snow. :cold: If we don't meet up again before that, we enjoyed spending New Years with many of you and will be back in April.:a040:
I was thinking perhaps we could set up brunch at Bonifay perhaps Sunday or Monday for those that might like to attend around 9:30AM and perhaps we will find Twinspin by then. Let me know if you think you may be able to attend and which day.
If we don't see you before we leave, take care and have fun in TV.:pepper2::pepper2::pepper2:

Holy cow! Just signed on after a day or two offline! Lots going on, and yes, I did get to meet Twin briefly on Friday! The neighborhood is coming together! So, what has been decided about breakfast... Monday? Bonifay or IHOP? I could make Monday:o good to hear there is much progress being made! Lee and Cion, there was no work on your place today, nor Terry and Teryl's. Sometimes they work Saturday, sometimes not. It was pretty quiet in Gilly today though...

jimbo: let me know about places/prices u find for engineered hardwoods. We are in process of having one quote done by Floors R Us but would love to know what u find...
We took a ride upto a cypress mill yesterday all I can say is WOW!!!!
Some of the nicest wood I've seen for flooring and other uses, they had logs being cut to order any size wood you desire, the prices were stupid inexpensive compared to anyplace.
I took pics, but since moving can't find my cable to download...a few days it will appear:Screen_of_Death:
But this is the real deal not laminates or engineered (not that there's anything wrong with engineered) It comes naturally in light wood tone, can be finished like that or stained to any color.
Here's the best part the experts all agree solid wood can now be used on above grade concrete slabs (as we have here) with the newer urethane glues containing built in moisture barriers.
So it will not be nailed or need a subfloor.
I'm placing our order tomorrow, picking up later this week, I have 5.25 " wide samples if anyone would like to see them.
They also mill a bead board for use on walls and ceilings, I'm going to do part of the LR ceiling, and a 36" high surround in the kitchen nook with a chair rail.
The deal with Fl cypress is it it super resistant to termites & rot naturally.
As some of you know I'm going to use this wood again outside on a pergola.
I have 40 yards of brand new carpet never stepped on for sale if interested.

It is so hard, so very hard to try and stay balanced and grounded with all the adulation, people standing when you enter a room and bowing and scraping when you walk past. :o:o
Now we know what it is like to have the adulation that royalty and pop stars receive, we think we would rather just be Mr & Mrs, but beggers can't be choosers and we suppose we will just have to put up with it.:pray:
Just to bring things back to a more serious note - we now have several British beers in stock and just waiting to share including 'Mild', 'Bitter', 'Brown Ale' and 'Guinness' (shh, don't tell anyone, but we are going to use the Mayor, Jimbo and A4 as guinea pigs, before we unleash them on the wider Gilly community):pray:

Can't wait to see you Gayle!! I'm planning what to sell b4 moving, throwing donations into bins, cracking my shins on them, scratching my head and spinning in circles!
btw, I only live an hour N of TV and today is a miserable drippy day, but still only 59.7 degrees.
My beloved boxer Emma will be happy to meet you! See you soon, and God bless all you are doing to get to TV!
Kitty
Thanks Kitty for the greeting. I havent been online. Trying to throw and give more things away. Thank goodness I have 3 kids to give it to!
We saw pictures of the inside framing of our house. We are hoping we get somemore pix Monday.
We are 10 days out when we close on our old home. It will be sad. We have been in it for 30 years. But we are so excited to be part of a new neighborhood. I will totallly miss my friends in the neighborhood here. We do a ton together. They are having a good bye party for us at the end of Januray.
We leave on Jan 30 to get to TV. We are renting a house near the polo fields. But we will pop over and say hi to you and other gillys.
And yes, I cant wait to meet your dog. Boxers are a big favorite of mine. Give her a kiss from me. I hope Beau likes her so he has a new friend.
Okay, I have babbled on. Hello to everyone. See you in a couple of weeks.
Safe travels to all who are moving around. Gayle:wave:

Oops! My bad! Your choices are Comcast, DishTV, the other satellite co (I forget their name), Brighthouse and probably a few others that I also can't remember. We went with Brighthouse because there was a thread on here about cable companies and it seemed that BH had a good reputation with no complaints about service. I know Junction29 had a problem with the attitude of the installer at their house but I had just the opposite experience so who knows. I worked with the BH rep on TOTV and found him to be wonderful and I'm totally satisfied with the service the BH has provided. We got the 3 way package (phone, internet & cable) and I couldn't be more pleased. It seemed to me that Comcast has service issues so I avoided them. Can't wait to see you guys!!!:loco:

It never gets boring to see the progress, and although Rusty sent me many, many pictures (thanks, my friend) it is truly amazing to see one being built start to finish! I am in awe of the amount ofw people working and how specific the crews are on the job. They are a well oiled machine and always have a wave and Howdy when they pass you on the street. They are for the most part very conscious of my dogs when I walk them as well, taking care to drive well away whenever possible. Mostly the sites are fairly clean each day, but on windy ones, no such luck! Sit back and watch the amazing progress and worry no more about your build!!

the only downside is that there are so many channels to choose from it is very confusing :Screen_of_Death:
We have had the full package, telephone, internet, dvd and tv with them;
The installer was a miserable devil, grunting and mumbling when we spoke to him and we wouldn't have that guy back in our house at any price and we told BH so too, but apart from that we are happy with the system

We also have Brighthouse, TV, Internet and phone. We have had very good experience with sales rep, installer and Customer service. We had Comcast at our ranch in Hemingway and customer service was terrible. Would not go back to them. We also had not had a landline in a number of years but it was only $2.00 difference a month and good for US long distance, thought we would give it a try. We were impressed no contract at all however, price stays same for 2 years.

I have another exciting announcement...we (Janice, Mom, Gracie, Annabelle and I) have new neighbors!!!
I was out walking Gracie the other day and happened upon a couple (Lee Stephen) and his wife who were leaning up against a car and admiring their new patch of sand! We stopped and talked for a while and got to know two of the nicest people. :BigApplause: They've bought the lot that is two away from us on Bradshaw.
Anyway, here are pics of their new lot with the first signs of construction. The lot is marked 209.114 which is sincerely hope is theirs. If it's not then my bad but then again it won't be the first time that I've taken the wrong pic of a lot...:22yikes:
At any rate...welcome to the best neighborhood in The Villages!!!:pepper2::pepper2:

Cathy and I got a tour of Hotrods house yesterday. What a beautiful place. We picked up several good ideas for our Friday design.

As usual, I have to thank A-4 for taking care of me with pictures of my build. With his help it is almost like being there. I'd be remiss if I didn't also thank hotrod for her taking some pics in his absence. I have to agree with him that hotrod's place is unbelievable. She definately did it right.

Thanks to Rusty for introducing us and for the pictures of the construction starting. With 3 first names it can be confusing at first, we are Steve and Linda Lee. Hello Gillys
We have just purchased new dirt, aka: 211-14, on Luraville Road. Once I can figure out how to attach a photo I will ;)
We are part-time residents in St James (Wifey and I drive up from the Ft Lauderdale area for a few days once every five weeks or so).
As life-long Floridians, we love being near water. The W-S-W exposure here is the same as our SoFla home, so no issues in that regard. Looking forward to meeting you all....

Steve and Linda, congratulations on your new home.
Twinspin, congratulations on your closing. Keep in touch.

Yankee quilter, house looks wonderful, keep the pictures coming.
Jimbo, keep us updated on your latest endeveor, the floors will be beautiful.
To Rusty and Janice, take care of the neighborhood and thanks for making us feel so welcome to your wonderful group!
Hope to see many of you in April, if not sooner. I am already looking for inexpensive flights. It is always hard to leave, but great when we have flights booked to look forward to another trip.

Wow. When you don't check in for 24 hours, you have to read through about 4 pages of new posts to try to catch up. That being said, welcome to our newbies. You will love it here.
Report on the Flea Market...... IT IS HUGE! Only about a 20 minute drive south on 301/471. Open every Monday. One part is comprised of pretty typical junk----watches, t-shirts, melted glass bottles, purses, sunglasses, hats, jewely, etc. Probably regular vendors who really don't have the motivation to get real jobs, but who buy odd lots of cheap stuff and try to make a buck or two. The other part, across the street is made up of hundreds (seemed like thousands) of small antique dealers, collectors, etc who displayed a wide array of all the stuff people moved down here and decided to dispose of. Seriously, there was a lot of really unique stuff and some that was pretty interesting. We spent about an hour and a half there, and didn't buy anything, but you could spend all day if you were really motivated. It's something worth doing occasionally, but I sure don't have the stamina to go very often.
Met some new neighbors at the Gilchrist Pool this afternoon. Shirley (hubby Dale was not with her) lives on Eastfield across the street from Jim and Mary and down a few lots. Very nice woman and I encouraged her to check us out online. They closed Dec 16th. The other couple live in Fernandina (Barb and Wes). They are trying to get a threat going for Placida Villas.
Gonna be a wonderfully warm week. If you haven't visited our Gilly pool, give it a try. The water was delightful. And it's a great place to meet people.
Lee and Cion, your house is looking great. Kitty, I think I saw that yours had started, as well. There's so much building going on, I can't keep track of who is where. A-4s spreadsheet is great, but I may need an actual map as a visual aid. Anyone up for the challenge?

So A-4...how did it go today. Give us the scoop!!!!
First off, CheifRose got "Blocked" today. By the time we got done meeting with our designer, it was getting late and dark so more / better pictures tomorrow.
8525
The design today went great. Our designer Melissa Stanford was GREAT. What a Pro. This morning was orientation on the design process with our sales rep and then this afternoon was the start of the design. Melissa thought today would be mostly the structural and stretch issues, but we got through those in about 2 hours and ended up nailing down everything else except for flooring, cabinets, and counters. So lets see . . . we added the GC garage; put a bay window on the front bedroom; stretched the garage 2' forward; Stretched the GC garage 2' forward; stretched the entire bedroom side 2'; added a 4' window to the end wall of the MBR; stretched the MBR and Lanai 3' back; and added the study behind the GC garage. Melissa is on the drawing board in the morning and we will meet again late morning to continue the selections. It looks like she will get the access to the study worked out with some creative relocation of the AHU and water heater.
WE'RE POOPED !! More to follow tomorrow.
(P.S. . . we're in for Wednesday at Evans Prairie. We'll make it our post design celebration unless someone else has picked a better theme)

I thought that it might be time for another Gilly Gathering. I was wondering what everyone thought of this coming Wednesday, January 16th at 8:00pm at Evans Prairie.
So what say ye in Gillyland????

You should refer to it as a "Gil Chill"...and I can't wait to be a part of them!

my lantana had everything BUT a laundry with room to fold. I did a 2 foot stretch thru the airhandler stuff on the garage/kitchen side, which did not do much for the laundry which parallels the stretch. The model with a nicer laundry option is no longer available. My brother suggested stacking the W/D and I ended up with stacked W/D, over 36" of counter plus a sink. You could call me Lucky, but I prefer Kitty!

We got a recommendation from a friend in TV! Loved what they had done in their villa. We are going to use American Concrete & Staining. The golf cart and two car garage apoxied and the entrance and lanai stained. The apply takes 11 days to cure and we are planning the big part of the move around the 18th ... Timing is perfect!

Hi Kitty,
Just been a walk with Millie and YOUR LOT IS PEGGED OUT!! :crap2:
It looks blooming big - only about two and a quarter inches between the back peg and your boundary - you must be having a very big pool. :girlneener:

Such a doubting Thomas!!! :girlneener: First, I had to assure that everything would be alright and that you'd be a Gilly. Then I had to reassure you that the changes to the Zinnia would work out fine and they did. When, oh when, are you gonna learn to trust me???

Wow! 11 days to dry. How did you work it out to have everything done at the same time? Did they have access to the house in your absence?
The garage will be ready to walk on sooner but they say 11 days befor cars or heavy boxes go on it. We close Fri. 3/1, they will start this 3/4 and we will be there then. We will be gone for a little over a week and arrange to have the movers show up on the 18th or 19th. The work will be done before we leave to come up to GA (and help a daughter move and have Happy BD with a grandaughter) and all dry and ready to go when we get back. The porch and lanai only takes 15 minutes or so to be able to walk on so there is no trouble with in and out ... just need to park in the drive! this would be tough if this house was sold and we needed to be in at closing, but, for the first time in many moves, we have time to get some stuff like this done!!! But I would rather have the house here sold .... oh well can't have it all .... just let's get down there!!!!! Our friends had it done when they were gone and gave access to the garage thru the keypad on the garage and leaving the lanai unlocked.

Hi All!
Just a reminder for the January Birthday Bash at my house on January 19th! Casual supper will be served. Please arrive any time after 5PM at 3037 Amherst Way and in lieu of any gifts for the January folks, donations to Operation Homebound would be appreciated. That is a charity that prepares and delivers meals to Village residents who are Homebound. Cash in a sealed envelope marked for Operation Homebound or a check to NLPC (North Lake Presbyterian Church) with Operation Homebound in the memo section in a sealed envelope will be taken to the church by Meredith. Many thanks!

Holy cow! So many posts, so little time! So many new neighbors! Seems things are progressing quickly in Gilchrist! Batman will have concrete block tomorrow, Terry and Teryl's Sheetrock is hung, Kitty's lot is marked, Twinspin closed, A-4 is nearing completion of the design process, Chief Rose is on his way and Yankee Quilter is nearly done! Hard to believe all this activity taking place. Those who haven't been here in a bit will not believe the amount of building going on in our little section of TV! Amazing!

I'll give you my exp from design appt. fall backwards and let the pros work it through, except say at first what you want to make happen that's askew from the standard floor plan and lot dimensions. focus first on how much of the lot you want to take over with the house/cage. then find out what possible stretches your model can do. if you have any disappointments about the floor plan, lay them out and ask for help,
Important to know that designers as well as RE agents drink some magic potion that makes them patient. the rest of it is what color, etc. no help for you there. just do whatever your partner wants...:-) I've been single so long that I can give advice? bwah!
We are going to try. It would be good to get some insight to the Design Meeting from those who have gone through it. Hope to meet you there.;)

Bobby -
I've got you on the spread sheet now and sent you a PM and an email. Hope we can help you. There's some really good experience on this thread that is ready to jump in. Just going in the homes of 3 of our new friends and neighbors was the most helpful thing for us going into design. You're going to love the experience. TV makes it real easy and a lot of fun. They've done it so many times they know exactly what it takes. For example, our designer said that after lunch that day we would spend a couple of hours doing interior choices, colors, styles, etc. We're thinking how do you do that in a couple of hours? 2 hours and 15 minutes later we were done, weren't rushed, and didn't second guess one decision. Amazing !!

I wouldn't count on them for the bail money. As the designated unofficial financial officer of Gillyland, I'm sorry to tell you I spend all of the Gilly Funds on Corona. FYI there wasn't enough funds in there to cover one bottle so I had to loan the Piggy Bank enough to cover one bottle. When do you start laying floor ??
I'm starting the ceiling & kitchen nook on Thursday or Friday because that wood isn't as critical to acclimate like the floor.
As for the floor I have an extra pair of knee pads  for starting Sunday or Monday, it can't be raining because the radial arm saw has to be outside by the front door to make quick cuts.

Thanks, I need to do the same thing and was hoping to do it here! It is on the check list for the wek! 3/1 is fast approaching!

You might try appliancesconnection.com. They are located in Brooklyn and get everything you can imagine. You don't pay sales tax or shipping so there are considerable savings if you get all from them and the more you get the more they negotiate. We got 3 kitchen aid appliances and two whirlpool and saved over $500 just in the sales tax.

Hi Guys! You are making progress. The last few days were slow but a crew showed up today and leveled the dirt for the foundation and laid the vapor barrier. I'd be surprised if you didn't have a concrete pad tomorrow. Hang in there! Once the pad is done you'll see an explosion of activity!!

Thanks a so much Rusty. I think the outside should be ready for paint soon. We have seen some interior pictures. It is shaping up. We are excited. The movers are coming on Wednesday Jan 16. We will stay near our current neighborhood and take off for TV on Jan 30. I am going to try to get Mike to go a little earlier. Lots of going away parties here. Cant wait for the "Welcome to TV" celebrations going in in Gilly.:laugh:

Well here it is Sunday morning and we're back in the dark and dreary state of Ohio  It was such a pleasure to meet everyone in our neighborhood and those of you that we didn't--believe me after I got Jim on the plane kicking and screaming our mission is to be back ASAP to our new home and freindly neighbors--it's like we've known you for such a long time. Keep tabs on eachother and try to behave while we're gone :beer3: We had so much to do while we were in town for that week I haven't been on this thread in so long--finally did get to the pool for about an hour on Friday and got our fix of Vitamin D :pepper2: Have fun at the social and Birthday Bash and as Arnold would say--"we'll be back!"
We loved having you guys around. I really, really, really hope that you'll be back soon!!!!

I expect the Mayor and his infamous administrative staff will start impeachment proceedings on me shortly.
When do you start laying floor ??
Oh, A-4....you poor soul. Do you think that you're gonna get off the hook that easily? Impeachment??? Perish the thought! Now that you're here, we're gonna saddle you with more responsibility! The Mayor, Head of the Admin Dept and the Admin Executive Assistant are just about worn out..

With only seven more weeks till Ann Marie and I close in Gilly my thoughts are turning to selecting service providers. Since so many of you are already in place I am sure you have already made these decisions. I am looking for input on cable company, insurance company, lawn service, garage floor finishers, garage stairs, electrician\handyman, etc. Also, those of you that are not Frogs; did you get someone to check the house in your absence? Thanks for any help.

Our designer nemtioned Dan's Fans as a good place to get light kits and fans. We saw work from American Concrete and Staining and are having them do the garage and lanai after closing.
We talked with Villages Insurance and they are reasonable and convenient.

We went to Pikes and I almost passed out from their prices. Went to Dan's Fan City between TV and Leesburg and did MUCH better and the guy who worked with us knew his stuff on sizing. He has all of the TV floor plans so he knows the ceiling heights and down rod lengths. They installed for free. We're very pleased but I would suggest you ask for or make an appointment with Lee Vesser 352-326-9018.

Good info, Sky...thanks. I wanted to get my own fans too, bc I prefer darker ones, and got $80 credit per fan...$480, I think...goes a long way in do it yourself dollars. BUT I am overwhelmed with it all. I have moved in my lifetime, but only once alone, and that was 18 years ago.
It will be fun when it's done!

Where to start? So many topics, some of which have been addressed earlier, but here goes:
Cable - we use Century Link for everything. Fiber optic service. I like it
Insurance Company - We went through TV Insurance for the various policies we need for our home, golf carts, car, and rental property. Could be others, I'm probably just lazy.
Lawn Service - We use Dean's and are happy with them. They do bugs inside and out, and lawn mowing, shrubs, etc.
Electrician/handyman: depends on what you need done. Dave does most of ours since he was in the construction business for 40 years.
Garage stairs: We ordered from Home Depot and Dave installed. It was pretty simple and probably very cost effective for us. Total cost - something around $130 for the stairs.
Garage Floor finishers: We have not done - still discussing which way to go
If you're not going to be a FROG, I would definitely have someone check on your house, unless you only live a couple of hours away and will be in and out.
Others will have other recommendations and everyone has their favorites. We are very satisfied so far.

We got our insurance through the Villages-included sinkhole--the only stipulation was because we aren't permanent we needed a home watch that was licensed and bonded--wanted to just have my cousin stop by every week as he lives in TV but they said no. So we we went w/Jeff with "The Home Watch" and it's $10.00/wk--can provide the # if anyone needs it. Won't get cable until we're back--Jim's job is maintenance so will probably install the ladder and may finish the garage floor--will have to see. Went w/Stellar for the lawn until Jim is here and can cut himself--gave us a good deal. Want T&D to do some extra work off the lanai when we return in the spring. Had doughnuts installed around the sprinkler heads.

Hello Everyone: We want to introduce ourselves. We are Bruce and Marcy Snell. We are very excited to finally be doing our design appointment on Thursday, January 24. We have waited almost five months for this appointment, and unfortunately could not get an earlier one because we didn't sell or rent our home until about a week ago. WHEW !!! It was really touch and go there for awhile as to whether we would be able to keep our appointment, but we will be arriving a day earlier on January 23 to settle in and check into the new Villa's over in the village of Pinellas. We have been reading most of the posts you been writing for months, and we can't wait to meet some of you and enjoy our new fun lifestyle. I hope we will be accepted since we are not in 209, 210 or 215. We will be building on lot 52 in Section 214 at 3293 Vicksburg Ave. I would like to get on your list I heard that A-4 has been doing, and the mayor and many others (including the infamous "hotrodgirl") sound like a lot of fun. Just can't wait, and would love to maybe say hi while we are down there between January 23-28. Thanks all.

Hi Everyone! My wife and I have just purchased a lot in the Village of Gilchrist and have a design meeting on July 9th. We've already got a rental residence lined up and can't wait to become official Villagers. We hope to be there by mid-July if the closing on our home goes as planned. If anyone else is going into Gilchrist please stop by and give us a post...
Your Honor, I have been following your thread since you first posted on ToV. My significant other, Jim and I are coming to TV on February 5 in hopes of buying land and starting our dream home, hopefully in Gilchrist. I keep up on the activities of Gillyland and was wondering if it would be possible to meet you and the lovely Associate Mayor while we are down? :bigbow: If you care to respond, you can reach me at Sharonmmills@gmail.com. I have really enjoyed all the helpful suggestions, the cast of characters and the many, many pictures. Hopeing to hear from you. Regards . . . . . SMills

Hi ya'll, I did design on 12/26 and close 4/1. You are in the newest of the new sections! There is an incredible amount of stress in this kind of move, for me a total lifetime shift. the TV teams do not match up with the fear and terror stories your friends will offer about building a house. You can almost fall backwards and relax. Just a couple of exceptions might be to save $ on doing it yourself with fans, fixtures, appliances. otherwise you are really in good hands and so your friends who can't believe can come and buy their own place!
hope to meet you soon,
Kitty, 2961 amherst way

Things are coming along quite nicely. Your interior is painted and the entrance and closet doors are primed and painted in the living room...:coolsmiley:
I even managed to get a shot out of the living room so you'll know where your lanai is positioned relative to the neighbors.
Hope you enjoy!!
