We're headed north to cold Maryland in the morning and aren't too happy about leaving our new home in TV. Our holidays up yonder will be brightened by a new grandson due to arrive via our daughter, Erin, on Dec. 5 and having son Colin and his two young guys in from Seattle. Look for us back here in late Jan. Much thanks to Rusty and Janice for some wonderful conversations over good food and a nip or two.

Zipady do da Zipady a, my my my what a wonderful day :pepper2:
Just logged on and seen the fabulous pictures that Rusty has posted of our house and our new friends, read the great news about more new neigbours with their new grandson arriving in Dec etc and read the news about Calc's house sale :a040:
Having to pinch ourselves to make sure we are not dreaming - ouch! (that was a hard pinch!!)
The GilBilly picture is fantastic and we must adopt it as our village emblem.
Millie says she is up for a doggie walking club, at least i think thats what she has just said.
Zipady do da Zipady a, my my my what a wonderful day :pepper2:
p.s. My singing is better in print, although it does improve after a glass or two.
See you all soon

Yes! We got an offer on our house here in Virginia...it was VERY scary to contract our house in TV without having sold our house in Virginia...but the settlement date here in VA is just 5 days after our settlement in TV. We will rent something in VA until the school year is over. Didn't quite get the $$ we wanted and could have probably done better if we pulled it off the market and re-listed it in the spring...but I just needed it to be SOLD so I could focus on becoming a GilBilly.
So it looks like we'll be adding another trip to Gilchrist MLK weekend in mid-January to finally take a look at our finished house (Ed might drive a truck with some of our stuff--I will fly because it's too hard for me to take time away from my AP Calc kids). Then we'll be back the last week in March during my spring break. And finally we should be permanent in June/July.
Congrats on the sale of your house and so jealous that you'll be permanent Gilley"s--still waiting for that perfect job to appear barf

Gosh gone for a few days and this thread is bursting with so much activity:laugh: The houses look beautiful--and as always thanks for the pictures! And also congrats to everyone for their news of the last few days! Also all the info that was posted. This working full time is for the birds and trying to plan for the bird is also taking too much of my time--plus trying to find flights-post resumes--the list just goes on and on! :cus:

Schisa! We have a bunch of doggies I think! I have 2 myself! One of my friends fosters Aussie's and has 5 at home now. Yikes! That is one busy house. I also have a friend staying with me for much of the winter and she is bringing her "Buddy". Then we have Gracie, Millie, Cooper, and more I am certain! Lots of opportunity there!
So we can meet between Owl and Amherst. I think we need to get someone to purchase the two houses that flank the walk between Gilliland and Fernandina. Right now there is a lot but soon we will have to walk around which makes it a longer meet. :O

Does anyone know / remember if a kitchen cabinet choice during design included an off-white (creamish colored) painted cabinet? White or an off-white is a good color to go with since the kitchens are interior and on the darker side. We have off-white in the house we're selling with a solar-tube and it really brightens the room up.

I remember only seeing white...but could be wrong! Ask you sales agent! They should be able to ask one of the designers if they don't know...

A4- Yes, they do have a cream color cabinet that we were considering, but don't remember the name. It was very pretty. It was in one of the models, I think the Iris.

We have coyotes....no fooling! Janice heard them calling one another a few nights ago and a neighbor saw one in the neighborhood before all the building started. I'm planning on buying a 5.56 which should do the job. Reloading my own ammo will also cut the cost..lol.

I'm not sure what they will have, but in the models we saw the white were not real wood they R a thermo plastic looking thing which we thought were not as nice as real wood in any color.
The real wood can be stained white, I think that would look nice

Well, in my infinite wisdom, i decided i had to have white cabinets. they are indeed thermafoil, Jimbo, and not my particular material of choice, but the only true white available. the "silk" cabinets are wood I believe and a cream color. I was amazed at the pictures because you find yourself wondering about all your decisions after the fact and thinking if you will approve of the choices you made It's so hard not knowing exactly what the final outcome will be. But if nothing else, I love the kitchen which is vastly important to me. And the lanai. Oh-the wood floors look awesome! :spoken: So now, the other hard part. I am busy packing up a bunch of boxes to ship down right after Thanksgiving. How does one person end up with so many clothes? I am waiting for more pictures of all your places! I truly find it as exciting to see as my own because everyone has their own additions and touches. Oftentimes I say "wish I had thought of that"! Scrambling to take care of business before heading down, but then so many of you have already experienced that! See you soon!

Rona & Bill . . . . how about an update
I joined TOTV 6 months ago today. At the time, I never thought that I would be writing this post as we were researching, exploring, etc. etc. TV life. Well, yesterday afternoon it became official as we plunked down our $$ and signed on the dotted lines!
Our design appointment could not have gone better. We worked with Stacey DeWitt who was just wonderful. She really made the process quite easy. A lot of thanks also goes to all of you on TOTV who have suggested, encouraged and offered excellent counsel. We had done a lot of legwork ahead of time. Thanks to hotrodgirl I was fully prepared with my spreadsheet and questions. As a result, we were able to achieve everything we wanted, plus more!
We are building a Lantana which we stretched 2' across the back, 4' in garage and a 4' lateral stretch to the kitchen, nook side. This increased the little storage room off the laundry room which now gives me my "space". :) I was also able to place the refrigerator along the back wall which was my preference and not opposite the counter area.
My suggestion to those who are still waiting to thru the design process is to ask what you want in terms of design features. Right now they are very flexible, but that is always subject to change. One thing I learned is that you can change up the cabinetry for the kitchen, bathrooms, etc. it doesn't all need o be the same. I decided to keep everything uniform as I had maxed out my brain on decisions by then.
Our closing is scheduled for 2/11/13 - just 83 days away. We won't be there to close, but should be there in early March to start to get settled in.
Up north, our contractors are hard at work trying to get us back into our home in several weeks - hopefully sooner! Visiting TV at this point in time was an excellent diversion and we as glad that we of followed thru with our plans.
Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! We all have a lot to be thankful for this year!

So much good info! Thanks. We have our design appointment in 3 weeks and am so curious as to what we can do,and,of course, the cost! We are doing a Sunflower with some bumps! I want tile and am starting to price it outside closing, but am afraid I might not be able to match the baths ...
Interesting on the 83 days as we had been led to believe 70. Since we have not sold here yet, that is an ok thing! Any hints or advice ... Appreciated!
Congratulations and Happy Thanksgiving!

Rona, so good to hear from you and thanks for your enlightening post! I am so very happy for you that you were able to accomplish and achieve so much during your visit:MOJE_whot: But more importantly, I was thrilled to hear that you have contractors underway in NJ and will be able to get your home back soon! I have been most concerned for you and all others affected by Sandy and am glad for some good news in that area:bowdown: I know you must be so excited to start this project and we will be waiting for pictures!
Linda, I will be arriving in TV on Dec 5th for closing and will be there through the beginning of April! Next season Oct thru April and hopefully a frog after that time! Yippee:pepper2:
Best of luck to you as well, Yankee as you begin the process! The designers are awesome, have good suggestions, and are there to help. I felt relieved when I realized it would be a thoughtful and concise experience and I am still grateful for Pam's expertise! She will be a visitor at my house for sure!
I so look forward to seeing and being in everyone's homes and getting to know all my wonderful neighbors! :clap2:Thanks for your wonderful and encouraging comments!

Glad to hear that things are moving along on the place in NJ. I am finally back up north and going into Seaside today to check on my place at the beach.
Sounds like you had a great design meeting. I'm hoping that ours goes as smoothly on 12/17 when we go back to the Villages for our meeting. Make sure to keep me posted via regular email on your status at Point Beach and TV.

Hi Guys,
We are after a bit of help.
Over in the UK and throughout our travels in Europe, we are covered for Medical treatment by our National Health Service, but when we come to the US, we have take out travel insurance that gives us emergency medical cover.
However, the policies are almost always time limited for the amount of days we can be out of the UK before losing cover.
Obviously we hope to be in the US for at least 6 months at a time and maybe even popping over to see Canada some years before returning home to the UK.
What US Medical cover scheme could you guys recommend we join, which will give us the cover we need for extended periods?

Wow! Now that's a good question? I would guess that your only alternative would be to purchase private insurance. I've never had to do this (thankfully) but have heard that it is expensive. My suggestion would be to do a google search for private health insurance companies. I just did one and came up with Cigna Health Insurance which I formerly had through my employer when I was a working stiff. I think you can also get it through AARP (American Assn of Retired Persons). My guess would be that any major company would be willing to insure you for a price and there may not be a huge difference between them. Most of them you can apply for a quote on-line. Hope this helps!

Hi Wendy!
I use Access America when I travel as I seem to go to Central America a bit! But I found this article and hope it might help you
Frommers.com's Top 8 Travel Insurance Providers | Frommers.com (http://www.frommers.com/articles/6438.html)
If you have to go private, here is another link for Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Florida Blue - Home (http://www3.bcbsfl.com/wps/portal/bcbsfl)
You can also check with your property insurance agent to see if they have any ideas for you as well as some of the people here from other countries. Barefoot from Canada comes to mind.send her a PM and I am certain she will respond. Though Canada is not your country, perhaps you can post something in the general discussion forum for other Great Britians to answer back...
Hope you find something you are comfortable with!;)

I'm glad you had a pleasant experience at your design meeting as did we and we are so thankful for Rusty and starting this thread--without the help from everyone that already went through their designs and were willing to share their knowledge without even knowing or meeting all of us--that's what a great neighborhood we'll be:bowdown:
Couldn't agree with you more and expressing a Happy Thanksgiving and the support we've had of complete strangers turning into friends is something to be thankful for!

:agree: About the packing, and I am not packing my whole house in Chicago either. Just clothes and necessary "stuff" but then I have to drive from here (in just one week!) down to Boynton Beach, pack that house (all of it) and finally get to TV and Gillyland on the 5th. Got a call from the closing dept today that they are running behind in their paperwork. So now they have to overnight everything to me before I leave. If not, they will have to overnight to one of the hotels I stay at on my way to FL. :cus: My walk through is at 2, closing at 3:30 in Brownwood, and then the celebration begins!:beer3::a040::wine: I know I have the best neighbors ever!:pepper2:

rbgold, Congratulations on your completion of yourvdesgn meeting. So happy to hear things are moving along for you in NJ as well. What an exciting time for you.
Jimbo, enjoy those Coronas. Every box you move down will have to be unpacked in TV. We have been in our home in NY for 32 years and had the ranch in TV prior. We already have an almost full home and dread when it comes to packing up here. Thought our kids would like the furniture but our son just moved to Denver and bought new. Our daughter doesn't think she wants much (she needs an apartment or condo first)!
A4 any news on a lot for you? FYI, I did find the Homecrest cabinets on line. As I think Jimbo stated the white is thermofoil and the Silk are wood.
Carol, we will meet up first part of January, can't wait to meet many people on this thread, strangers that feel like friends already.
Rusty, or anyone already in TV, looking for a place that cuts glass for 48" round table. Any recommendations?
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving, wherever you may be.

I'm sorry to report yet another absence on the part of your humble scribe in TV. Janice and I are flying to WV tomorrow to attend the wedding of our middle niece so we won't be here to report on the happenings. The neighborhood is moving right along and I will try my best to get pics up before I call it quits for the night!
Now, to shift gears. This year has been one of substantial changes for most of us. Selling homes, buying homes, reserving lots, design meetings, building anticipation, praying for lots to be released and moving into a new home cause tension and anxiety. Believe me, I know all of the above. :clap2: But in the middle of the chaos, I have so much to be thankful for such as a spouse that loves me in spite of my flaws (too numerous to list), a mother who is still with me and loves me, family and a new home. Not the least in this list is a group of new friends, most of whom I've not met but whom I'm thankful for anyway. To each and every one of you, thank you for being my friend and I wish each of you a Happy and Restful Thanksgiving!
I'll be back on the job on 11/26.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving all. I know we all have much to be thankful for this year, however my mom could use your prayers at this time too. She was rushed to the hospital a week ago Monday with pneumonia and two subsequent heart attacks. She has dementia and is so frightened that between my dad, sister and I, one of us has stayed with her 24-7. It is so hard to watch my dad, after 57 years of marriage he is having a very difficult time too. I am so thankful I am here in upstate NY right now. Also thankful for all our family, long time friends and for the many friends we have met on this thread. Take care and be safe!

Linda and Rich--
Thoughts and prayers to you on this Thanksgiving Day as you have to be strong for both your mom and dad. I think as you get to know many of us you'll find out that we have already been in your shoes and will be there to help ease the pain and offer support and guidance. That what sucks about having to grow up:sad:
On a happy note--my turkey is in the oven and it smells wonderful--the table is set--the trimmings are fixed and am waiting for 17 family members to arrive as I thinking it will be Thanksgiving in the Viilages next year.;) Can't complain as it's supposed to be 62 and sunny in OH today-yea! Everyone enjoy the day surrounded by family and friends!
And oh so jealous that we aren't there December 5th to join in all the festivities--just everyone don't have so much fun and save a couple of drinks for Jan 3th:)

Hope you find something you are comfortable with!;)
Hi Bob and Carol,
Many thanks for your advice, sorry we have been a while replying, but been off the internet for a couple of days.
Since we posted, we have managed to get 6 months cover from our Bank!!!!!: how cool is that, so we have a breathing space now to explore the options in the US.
On the final countdown now to get over to you guys, even Millie has her 'Fit to Travel' certificate all ready.

Cathy and I are the proud owners of lot #71 in 210 on Regency Ave. as of 5:45 this afternoon. The Mayor (my chief scout) has been taking pictures of selected lots for weeks now and we had it narrowed down to 2 lots waiting for big brother to release them. They spec'd our first choice (lot #86), someone else put a hold on our 2nd choice (#71) and then 15 minutes later released it so my rep jumped on it. She's going to start looking for an earlier design date and mentioned that they are going with 6 months to build now rather than 12. Rusty was at the Sanford airport a little bit ago headed to TV. Make that two going to Gilly!
As of 5:50 today Ann Marie and I also made the jump from Fernandina to Gilchrist. We are lot #90 in 210 on Euclid Terrace. Bob - that is right around the corner from you... We had four lots under consideration and got our second choice. We had originally planned on a Begonia in Fernandina but wanted to switch to an Iris so our rep was diligent in getting us a lot that would handle the stretches we wanted. Our rep actually acquired the lot for us while he was sitting in the Las Vegas airport waiting to return home from vacation. We can't wait for our design date on December 17th. Now I will have to ask for addtional input from those that preceeded us on design and building.

It also looks like they added a new floorplan called the Boxwood. Very similar to the Bridgeport except no half bath. I knew they were going to add new plans but thought the changes would be more earth-shattering for some reason. I guess there are only so many variations you can come up with! And is it my imagination, or did the prices go up again??

Great now they pulled a $3000 increase, this is not right, that like 7K since the summer
You are correct on the price increases. When we priced out a Begonia in May it was $6,000 less than the new price when we were down earlier this month. The discount was also 4%. In December for our design meeting it is 3.5% and in January it is going down to 3.0%. The price of switching to a slightly larger lot was also an additional $6,000 premium.
All of the above are the reasons we decided to pull the trigger and build right away before there were additional increases in 2013

Between Jan. and Oct the hose we had specked out went up almost 10% we decided to build before we were out priced! We have our design meet in two weeks, if it went up again ... It may be a Sunflower instead of a Begonia!
After following this tread I am sure we will be inn the right place!

We had initially purchased a lot on Mayflower Loop in Charlotte but decided that we wanted a larger lot and also changed the house to a Zinnia. TV let us switch the lots with no further payment on a one-time basis. I've noticed that Charlotte has filled up very quickly and it looks like Gilchrist might do the same thing. I can't wait to meet our neighbors (block parties, progressive dinners, drinks on the lanai)....lol. After all these years, I'm ready to have a social life and friends!!!!
Good luck with your Zinnia....we just couldn't decide to go with the Holly or the Zinnia....we love our Holly, but I still love the layout of the Zinnia!

I googled Sanford Airport and found their flight routes, airlines servicing, etc. This might be helpful depending on where you are flying.
WVMtnBoy
11-28-2012, 01:17 PM
Really, the only reason we fly in and out of Sanford so much is that we get really cheap flights back to WV through Allegiant Air and they only fly out of Sanford. It's not a bad airport, just small but they use regional jets.
I would really rather drive to Orlando because you're on the Florida Turnpike all the way and it's just about an hours drive. The downside to the turnpike is that it is a toll road. The drive to Sanford takes you down 441 through all of the little towns and a lot of stop lights. And then County Road 46 gets you to the airport but it's a two lane road. The entire drive takes about 1.5 hours.
Another up side to Orlando is that you can take TV shuttle service from LSL to the airport for $30 per person. I've used that when getting my brother back to Charlotte and it's a really nice service. Unfortunately, the shuttle service doesn't go to Sanford.
It's nice living in a place where you have choices...unlike WV...lol

Also heard today that they started staking out our TV lot! So, things are definitely looking up!

yesterday I was in #210 they were putting the steel forms up on a Cedar to pour concrete.
I got to talking to workers, it takes them 5 hours to place all the forms..........that's it.
today the concrete is poured forms off, trusses in front of the house, simply amazing the speed they work.

For those who have been through design, at what point are you in contact with and handed off from your sales rep to your Designer? And if it was before your design date, were you able to ask preliminary questions to help you prepare for your design?
CalcTeacher
12-01-2012, 08:26 AM
A-4: we weren't told who our designer was until just a day before and didn't meet her until the day of our first appt.
There were several design changes we asked about...adding a powder room, creating a wall closet/pantry, for example, that our sales rep turned over to someone in the design dept to see if it was do-able well prior to our design appt. That way, they at least have an idea of some stuff. So...if you wanted to add some version of a craft room like Rusty, tell your rep Rusty's address (or unit/lot) and they can pull his plan and put a copy of it in your file.
Our rep also drove us around a couple of times looking at models for flooring choice, lighting choices, counter top choices. But you are by no means locked in to any of these choices. And who knows, if you visited the "old" models, those choice may no longer be available when you design.
They will not take any exterior color choices except directly off the models. So, even though we are building if you, for example, liked the color of my house it doesn't do you any good to tell anyone that because they won't paint the outside of your house based on a selection from a non-model home (in case we subsequently had our house re-painted).
Hope that answered your question!

They changed the floor plan of the Zinnia last week to add a coat closet by the front door which moved the HVAC unit and water heater to the area that was the hallway to the room we're adding to the back of the golf cart garage. My sales rep has not been able to tell me that they will let us build the previous floor plan.

A-4,
We also had similar experiences at CalcTeacher. We met our designer for the first time at our design appointment, but had also worked the day prior with our sales rep to try and narrow down our choices. If you are one of the first to build on your block, you shouldn't have any problem with house/trim color choices as you would be the one what no one else could match - in terms of color. We are building in between two homes that had already been build or were being built, so our first choice was taken. But our designer showed us a couple of other options that were so close to what we thought we wanted that we could not tell.
We also made some other structural changes during the design process that our sales agent would not commit to and told us the designer had the final say for that. I'm sure you will ask if you can configure the home the way that you and Cathy would like. And, I'll also bet that your designer might come up with things you hadn't thought about. In a few instances, I asked our designer what she would do if this were her home, as I trusted her opinion. I also asked if there might be something we were forgetting/omitting, etc. She actually told me that she woke up during the night to see if we were forgetting anything!!
All you have to do is ask - the worst they can say is "no" and be prepared for Plan "B"!

Wow, you have all been very busy "talking" these past few days! Lots going on, builds starting, news of all sorts! My sales rep has not been able to tell me that they will let us build the previous floor plan.
I'll hope for your sake that you can still build the "older" plan...it shouldn't be an issue considering how accomodating they've been to everyone on their changes.
One choice that took a lot of time for us: front door. They want you to pick out what you like...but I had learned previously on TOTV that some front doors cost in the neighborhood of $5,000. Our designer (Mary) gave us a sheet of paper that broke down door model#s by price range (<$500, $500 to $1500, etc.). Front doors just aren't that important to me so I refused to choose anything over a certain price. So be prepared to look at many doors.
We also spent some time, believe it or not, choosing cabinet hardware. Not so much for color/finish but for "hand feel"...I'm an avid home cook who spends a lot of time in the kitchen...the drawer and cabinet pulls have to be comfortable! And many of them were not in my opinion.
If you have time constraints, tell your REP immediately if you want TV to put granite in or a pool...they have to make appoints for you with T&D and the granite yard...all of that takes time!

Sounds like everyone has been really busy this week. I hope & pray that the design team lets A-4 make the changes that they want.
It's been a busy Saturday around here also! First, we received a wonderful visit from Andy, Wendie and Millie Andrews this morning and we got to visit for quite a long time. It's really good to have them back.
A little later, I was in the garage working on a frame for a stained glass window. I heard a car on the street but didn't pay much attention to it until I heard a woman's voice saying "Excuse me, Sir. I'm looking for the mayor of Gilchrist." I turned around to see a lady and her daughter whom I had never seen or talked to before. Turns out that they currently live in Tampa and are considering moving to TV. As I was talking to them, Teryl and Terri Bishop motored up in their golf car. We all went into the house and had a nice long visit. As it turns out, the wonderful lady (Freddie) and her daughter (Shawn) are also thinking about opening a cathouse if they decide to move here (5 cats in residence). We all just about fell out of our chairs laughing. So, if you hear rumors about a cathouse opening in TV you can grin to yourself and say with a straight face "It's true!" Freddie found our thread and began reading it like a novel! So, now it's time for her to jump in with both feet and start posting!
What a place this is gonna be when we all get here and get settled!!!

I just wanted to let y'all know that Terri Bishop has planned a very informal and unofficial get together at 5:00pm on Wednesday, December 5th at the Evans Prairie Country Club on Buena Vista Blvd for anyone who's going to be in town. The CC has been really crowded since the opening so we're going to meet in the bar and put our name on a waiting list for a table(s). Anyone who wants to attend is entirely welcome to do so. If you want to attend it may not be a bad idea to let me know so we can have a rough idea of how many seats we'll be needing!
Hope to see you there!!!

I think both...I'm pretty sure if you look at the map for 210 they are probably mostly all the white ones...
If you got the Front Elevations pdf for each of the models, it tells you what unit/lot has that elevation...I looked at the Ivy yesterday and it said "shown at 210-104" on one of them and "shown at 210-107" on a different elevation.

SANDLOT ???
The pictures you sent me of that lot before I picked it were of a lush green beauty. When I saw the pictures I told Cathy "OMG, that lot looks like a well manicured fairway". (Got you puckered up . . . . haven't I :undecided:)
I can't believe you're doing Wednesday night without us. You better be doing it for practice :pepper2:

You're absolutely right...I took a pic of the wrong lot. Your lot is right next door to the one I shot and it is a verdant, lush green lot that is fit for a king!!!
Don't worry about Wed night. It's just a warm up for the real thing!!! I absolutely promise that none of us will have a good time without you!!!

Wow! You guys have a house. I can't believe how much progress has been made!!! Tile in the kitchen, livingroom, hallway and baths. Paint in the interior and the exterior is about 80% done. The driveway and walkway has also been poured. The tile layers were hard at work in the master bathroom. You are really getting there!!!

Hey Buddy! I just thought I'd let you know that Janice was in WV when you posted the news about getting your lot in Gillyland. She said that she was sitting on her sisters porch that night and suddenly heard a heavenly host singing the "Hallelujah Chorus" and knew that something significant had happened but didn't know what. When I told her about you getting the lot it all made sense.

It looks great--thanks for the pictures and I can't believe how much progress they made in two days time as my cousin just sent us a couple of pictures the other day as they're leaving town for a wedding in Chicago and the driveway wasn't poured/tile wasn't laid/ourside wasn't painted. I need to find that job ASAP and move into my new home :cus: Jim is drooling thinking about that beer making kit :pepper2: He may just have to have one with dinner :beer3:

We were able to get one from a cancellation. So in late Oct. we secured 12/10. Right now I hear they are out 3-4 months. But your rep can keep checking cancellations! Good luck?

We are trying to get a design meeting for April. Our agent just told us that they are only booking out to Feb. right now. I am hearing different things from different people so I hope we get a spot in April! Good luck.
Trish, do you know what sections you want to look in for lots?

After taking pictures of all the other homes and the gorgeous, grass filled lot of A-4 I finally realized that I haven't been keeping you up to date on what's going on with our home.
A few weeks ago, we found two old, stained glass windows at the antique mall on Rt 44 near Wildwood. We bargained the price down and took them home. Then we had to figure out how to hang then with a back light. We finally decided to build a frame and put a small piano type light behind the glass. I finished up the windows this morning and got them hung. The pics aren't great because of the lighting but they look really nice and give the lanai a homey touch.
Enjoy

I would guess that the 3-4 month timeframe is pretty accurate although I have no hard info in that regard. I would almost bet that the long leadtime is why they're building so many spec homes in 210. Seems to reason that they can make more money selling already built spec homes as opposed to waiting several months for design appts for designer assisted....but, who knows?

Well, I have a recommendation to make about lot selections! I would be totally remiss in not giving a hearty shout out to Gillyland...does that surprise anyone??? I absolutely love it here and it's only going to get better..:0000000000luvmyhors

I thought that Gilchrist was the only place available! :MOJE_whot: It's kind of like leaving home for college, knowing that the school you are going to is considered the biggest party school in the state.
